FOOP FAMILY PLAY DATE in Oakhurst Park was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Simply said – FRIENDS OF OAKHURST PARK (FOOP) FAMILES ARE FABULOUS!!! On July 28, 2017, even 103 degree temperatures and sweltering humidity could not keep many of them from enjoying KONA ICE and the fun of FOOP FAMILY PLAY DATE in Oakhurst Park! Babies in buggies, puppies, the young, and the old - all gathered in Oakhurst Park to kick of the “FOOP PLAY DATES IN THE PARK” series. The series was created by FOOP Board member Julia Marut and is scheduled for 10:00am on 1st Saturday of each month beginning August 5th. Families are invited to come to the park, meet each other, and make friends and memories to last a lifetime. Our “FABULOUS FOOP FAMILIES” love Oakhurst Park and dedicate their time, energy, and resources to keeping the grass green and flowers blooming! FOOP Families know “Oakhurst Park is the heart of our neighborhood and is the place that makes Oakhurst special!"
We decided to try to raise $5,000 to make sure we have more than enough to cover all the watering and maintenance bills with some funds left over for emergencies (such as broken sprinklers) and future projects (such as repairs and improvements). Currently, we are relying on an individual donor to maintain the park. However, that model is not sustainable. We want to make sure that we can keep Oakhurst Park in great condition, even if the generous people we rely on move away, are injured, or have to stop donating. That’s why we raise funds. 100% of everything you donate goes to the park. That’s our commitment to you! Beginning this year, we’ll be collecting bills and specific numbers so that you can see exactly where your money is going. If you ever have any questions about what we use your donations for, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! You can contact us at FriendsOfOakhurstPark@gmail.com or at www.friendsofoakhurstpark.org/contact. Thank you SO much, again, for your donations! Together, we can achieve our mission to MAINTAIN, PROTECT and PRESERVE Oakhurst Park for future generations.
