​ART IN OAKHURST PARK was a collaborative community endeavor in which Friends of Oakhurst Park (FOOP) partnered with Riverside Arts District (RAD) and Carter Riverside High School art educators and  students to give the iconic Oakhurst Park toucans, dinosaur, park benches, and play backboards a full make-over. 

Fort Worth RAD artist Rose Marie Mercado restored the toucans, and thanks to FOOP's innovative thinking, kiddos attending ART IN OAKHURST PARK were invited to become interactive in the project by painting the park's dinosaur.  (see video below) 

The event was featured on the local NBC news in a segment by reporter Deborah Ferguson.
