![]() Hi, friends & neighbors! As most of you know, Oakhurst Park is the “heart” of Oakhurst. But, did you know that Friends of Oakhurst Park (FOOP) is the service organization that takes care of Oakhurst Park and donations to FOOP pay for irrigation, maintenance and improvements to our beautiful park? FOOP does not receive funding from Oakhurst Neighborhood Association (ONA), the Oakhurst Alliance of Neighbors Neighborhood Redevelopment Organization (NRO), or any area neighborhood association or re-development organization. FOOP relies solely on the generosity of friends and neighbors. Since its inception just three short years ago, FOOP, as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has accomplished amazing things for Oakhurst Park!
This past month, during our Spruce Up Oakhurst Park project, FOOP planted five crepe myrtle trees and seven pallets of grass! FOOP donors work tirelessly, year-round with Mark Buse & Pecan Creek Landscape to make sure Oakhurst Park is a lovely, well-maintained venue for all area neighbors to visit, play, picnic and hold social events such as the ONA annual Easter egg hunt, Santa in the Park, Halloweenie Roast, 4th of July celebration, etc. So, neighbors: PLEASE HELP KEEP OAKHURST PARK “SHADY!" Donate to FOOP and add your name to the list of neighbors and friends who help keep the grass green and the flowers blooming in Oakhurst Park!
The 3rd annual Spring Spruce Up was a huge success. Thank you SO much to all our fabulous Friends of Oakhurst Park!
![]() Notice something different about the park this week? Mark Buse and his Pecan Creek Bee Farm Inc. (PCBF Landscape) team have been working hard to clear out old shrubs and plants and prep the flower beds so that they are ready for our Friends of Oakhurst Park volunteers to Spruce Up the park next weekend in partnership with the Fort Worth Cowtown Cleanup. Come help us fill in the newly prepped spaces with plants and grass on March 24th at 10am. See you in the park! Join us March 24 @ 10am to for FOOP's 3rd annual "Spruce Up Oakhurst Park" Cowtown Great American Cleanup! Come work; laugh; play; and be part of caring for our neighborhood park!
