Hi, friends & neighbors! As most of you know, Oakhurst Park is the “heart” of Oakhurst. But, did you know that Friends of Oakhurst Park (FOOP) is the service organization that takes care of Oakhurst Park and donations to FOOP pay for irrigation, maintenance and improvements to our beautiful park? FOOP does not receive funding from Oakhurst Neighborhood Association (ONA), the Oakhurst Alliance of Neighbors Neighborhood Redevelopment Organization (NRO), or any area neighborhood association or re-development organization. FOOP relies solely on the generosity of friends and neighbors. Since its inception just three short years ago, FOOP, as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has accomplished amazing things for Oakhurst Park!
This past month, during our Spruce Up Oakhurst Park project, FOOP planted five crepe myrtle trees and seven pallets of grass! FOOP donors work tirelessly, year-round with Mark Buse & Pecan Creek Landscape to make sure Oakhurst Park is a lovely, well-maintained venue for all area neighbors to visit, play, picnic and hold social events such as the ONA annual Easter egg hunt, Santa in the Park, Halloweenie Roast, 4th of July celebration, etc. So, neighbors: PLEASE HELP KEEP OAKHURST PARK “SHADY!" Donate to FOOP and add your name to the list of neighbors and friends who help keep the grass green and the flowers blooming in Oakhurst Park!
