If you have pictures of you or your family enjoying the park , please share them with us on Facebook or at [email protected]. Friends, Neighbors & Pet Lovers! Friends of Oakhurst Park (FOOP) is proud to announce that, on August 9, 2017, the City of Fort Worth Parks & Recreation Department will begin constructing a new sidewalk and installing a new water fountain in Oakhurst Park. The water fountain will be a combination that will be Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accessible and have a pet fountain for Oakhurst pets! FOOP and the Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Department have been working on this project for over a year. Originally, three Oakhurst neighbors, FOOP treasurer Janice Morgan, and Mark and Sharon Buse, who adopted Oakhurst Park in 2015, donated a pet-only water fountain to honor their friends and neighbors who LOVE pets. Following discussions with the Parks Department, the FOOP Board was able to have the city upgrade the pet-only fountain to a combination fountain that can be accessed by all park visitors – human and fur baby! Thanks to FOOP and its supporters, Oakhurst Park is one of the prettiest and best maintained neighborhood parks in the city. FOOP friends donate their time, energy, and money to keep the grass green and the flowers blooming. Oakhurst Park is the heart of the Oakhurst neighborhood. FOOP members have many more improvements planned for Oakhurst Park. So…stay tuned! In the meantime, see ya in the park!
